17 Oct, 2008
aw cool Sal, glad it worked with your bulbs. you gona try it again with daffs?
17 Oct, 2008
What happens when they grow tall? Won't they fall over????
17 Oct, 2008
kinda hard to see in this photo, but the bowl is pretty deep
17 Oct, 2008
Thats interesting , I have a bowl of marbles wonder if it will work with them !

Eileen, youve got me looking for a suitable bowl now how deep does the bowl and the water need to be?
18 Oct, 2008
it doesn't say how deep the bowl should be , just says a deep, wide bowl or a jar, some pebbles or glass stones or even gravel . put a layer of stones in the base, push the bulbs into the stones enough to hold them and then add water to just below the bulb, top up when necessary

The place where I buy my bulbs has these all over the place with various types of bulbs and different sizes and shapes of bowls.
18 Oct, 2008
you gona get one Newfienurse?
18 Oct, 2008
~ wonder what an arrangement of tete a tete mini daffodils would look like? The more enclosed it is the moister the environment-did you have your bowl already or did you buy especially Eileen?
A while ago the shops in London were doing big round goldfish looking bowls with coloured calla lilies wrapped around inside-looked really classy!
18 Oct, 2008
i would say tete a tete daff's would look brilliant done this way Arlene.
i already had the bowl, there was some very tired looking potpourri in it
18 Oct, 2008
Might give this a try myself , whats the next project then ?
18 Oct, 2008
aye Janette give it a go.
my next project is to go and do the councils work for them by cutting back all branches over hanging the roads lol
18 Oct, 2008
Good project, might save somebody from, getting a black eye lol
18 Oct, 2008
~still feeling lousy as is the whole family-but when I'm feeling better I will be heading to Wyevale!~good luck with the branches!
The local farmer cuts the hedges back in a truly draconian fashion which leaves the wood all battle scarred and bare and I usually can't wait for them to grow! ~ our local council sends out a cherry picker to cut the overhanging ones as the bus company runs double deckers but sometimes we get such winds there are quite big branches in the road-must be dangerous for you with the learners?
18 Oct, 2008
lol cheers janette
18 Oct, 2008
aw Arlene , i hope you are feeling better soon
18 Oct, 2008
~thanks Eileen
~the weather is dry and I wish i could get out ino the garden ~but I start to feel shivery and very fragile so just wanting it to go away so that I can do things!~
Got my own brand of biological warfare! trouble is it's winning!
18 Oct, 2008
the garden will wait for you Arlene, just make sure you are fully well before doing anything out there
18 Oct, 2008
~thanks Eileen!
