Terratoonie and David:

Is this plant available for sale in England?

This plant is extremely easy to grow from cuttings...stick them in the ground and they grow. And they are also very tough plants.

Hi, Delonix!

I live in Scotland, and aeoniums are hard to find here, but have just ordered some dark-coloured ones from GOY member Sandra, who has a nursery in Wales. Your pic, however, is of an even darker one, I think. It's amazing!

David,

Good luck with your Aeonium! I assume you would have to grow it indoors during the Winter...however, I would think you could plant it out in the ground during the Summer and dig it out before the temperatures go below 29 degrees F (-1.6 degrees C.). They like a lot of sun and not so much water and grow quickly to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall.

Delonix, thank you very much indeed for this info, much appreciated! I didn't realise that they could grow so tall. I wonder if mine will get enough sunshine to do so. Yes, will have to bring indoors to the conservatory over winter. Mine arrived by mail today - lovely!

David,

You're welcome...if you need anymore information feel free to message me any questions. I've grown this plant for many years especially when I was a younger. I liked the fact that I could just stick a cutting in the ground and give it a little water and it would grow quickly.

Many thanks for this. When I was a kid, I'd do the same with Sempervirens (Houseleek), and ended up almost covering my parents' garden with them! They have only recently "rediscovered" this, bless 'em!
