Butterfly resting on the gravel

This late Fritilliary was out visiting my garden to day. Not many of them around at this time of year. Used the zoom lens to get as close up as I could. He was very nervous and flew off every time I moved.

Love this picture - we've had fewer butterflies this year, although we do grow specific plants to attract them. Think the very wet Summer did for them! Our best shot was of a Comma on the Sedums.

Lovely. I've been missing butterflies, but I do have a couple large winged beings that flit about in the house plants. Seem harmless, not moths.
