Panther,
Such a beautiful Philodendron...these plants can grow up a large tree at least 25 feet...I've seen them that large here. I bet there in Fiji they can grow at least twice that height.

Thanks Delonix1 and Shirleypoppy..yes they do creep high these plants. I have a few growing in the back as well. Shirleypoppy I just wish you could too, but just stick to the potting for the timebeing, maybe with this Globalwarming, who knows you could be growing coconuts their in the UK in a few years from now!!!!LOL...(just kidding) Have a nice evening/day both of you!!!
Take care

Shirleypoppy,
You may want your plant to grow up a large indoor stake...it will give you a similar effect, even though it's not outside. It would be like an indoor rain forest.

Thanks for the tip, Delonix. Mine unfortunately does not look as good as Panther's, because it and the Swiss Cheese plant never gets quite enough light indoors (no conservatory), making them a bit leggy. I simulate a tropical downpour for them by putting them in a warm shower.
I am convinced that way back one of my ancestors came from somewhere tropical, because I love all the plants from that region. I don't belong in England!!

Shirleypoppy,
It sounds like you need to move somewhere tropical or subtropical. : )
I'm from Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii originally, which is tropical. Tropical plants are in my blood.
San Diego is dry subtropical and we are able to grow many tropical plants here...but even with our mild winters...we still can't grow some of the ultra-tropical exotic plants. I'm not complaining, because we can grow some amazing tropical exotics plants here.
