Yes David, I'd heard the forecast although they weren't forecasting snow this far south, just very cold. I got fleece over three borderline hardy plants late yesterday afternoon but then had to rush out at 9pm and get the roof off the fruit cage in the dark (the weight of the snow would have bent the framework)

According to our local newspaper today, this is the first time we've had snow in October here since 1974 and the first time it has stayed for more than a day since records began almost 100 year ago. Must be global warming!
