Looks great. What is that deep purple plant growing beneath it?

Beautiful Sid, I love grasses and they look very healthy too.

I love the feathery grass but I, too, would like to know what the purple plant is..

Greenthumb and Skippy - the purple plant is Ajuga repens 'Braunherz'. I only planted it early summer, so it's spread loads (only 3" pot when bought). I'm really pleased with it - it goes great with the other plants I've got in this patch - shows everything off nicely and is good thick groundcover - no weeds have got through it :-)

It's beautiful, but I have found it self-seeds everywhere, which has been a bit of a pain.

In that case, get yourself a pack of seeds - very easy and you'll get loads of plants for very little outlay! They do look very good en masse ;-)

Can't remember where I got mine from, but if you scroll down to the bottom of the page it looks like T&M are doing them - 60 seeds for £2.29 ;-) Or try e-bay?

Sid, when you plant the seeds do they have to be grown in tight clusters or a couple of inches apart to get an overall bushy effect?
I will be creating a narrow formal border along the edge of my lawn and want it to look very bushy and not sparse.
Thanks.
