signs of spring

A pair of mallards visit my pond most years - this is last year's brood of fourteen who all made it to maturity - wrecking the borders of the pond in the process - but hey! I feel lucky watching them grow and there's always the next year for the plants.

It's laways fun to watch wildlife and when you get to watch the babies mature, that's wildlife at it's best...

How long do they stay?

About two months, Aleyna. They do a few practice flights before they leave - the first one is really funny with a few crash landings. Some landed outside the garden and I had to open the gate to let them back in to the pond.
