The kite in my photo is a bird but I've seen people hang-gliding from the hillsides.

I've never tried kitesurf, I'm very careful about my hands and arms
use to surf and sandboard (quite similar to snowboard, but performed in sand dunes)
I guess kite surf could be called an association of hang gliding and surfing.

Personally i think it looses the meaning both ways... surfing is more than just keep yourself up in a board... the entire knowledge about the waves, winds, timing... its way more interesting
guess hang gliding might be as interesting :o)

best time to visit for northern people is spring and/or autumn... the hot weather hits 42°C during summer, and we are in the southern part of the country...

Whew! I'd melt away into the sand....lol :-) Spring and autumn sound a much better plan. :-)

Looks like fun for those who can but it wouldn't work for me. One could start out kitesurfing and end up parasailing!! lol. Yikes!

Exactly what the mean to do ... start surfing and end up paraglading... but
mostly of time they have a wet "derriére",
it is hard to manage the wind and the waves at same time
