Oh nooo.
Not Milky too !!!
Is this a Fancy Dress Gnome or a Flower Pot Person or some sort of dreadful hybrid of the two. :o(
Norman doesn't look like a normal Gnome to me
Is Norman normal or a Gnome Clone ???. :o)

Milky sent me this private message. It's interesting and she says I can share it with you all ~

Ha ha ha . Yes Terratoonie...me too. This used to be my mothers Gnome that she had sitting round my Dads fish pond. I dont ever remember a time growing up when it wasnt there. She religiously repainted him every year. He used to hold a fishing rod, that went through both his hands, but it disintigrated, and somehow, some of the campanula seeds from the patch he used to sit must have got into the hole in his hand, and have been growing ever since. After both of my parents went, then I pinched it from the garden, not that any of my brothers or sisters wanted it. Now hes in our garden and i cant move him because the roots have come out through the bottom of him where she filled him up with soil, and rooted into our own border. But his bunch of flowers gets bigger and bigger every year. I always smile in the spring, when the whole thing comes to life with beautiful little blue flowers, and think of my Mum.......Mind you, if she saw the state of her dear Norman now, she'd give me a telling off for not painting him. I was going to put this all in a blog but couldnt work out how on earth to add the picture, so I gave up, and as your the 1st to comment, your the lucky one thats got the whole story about dear old Norman lol

That's a lovely story Maureen. Glad TT shared it with us :)
Maureen sometimes it's easier to respond here, instead of sending private messages. I know that I got a couple of responses from you via 'private messages' and I wasn't sure what they were in ref. to.

I shall try to remember that and I hope this is what you mean Tasteyg

It's nice you have it in your garden Maureen. Even if you can't move it at least it didn't end up in the bin.

Lovely story. I got my love of gnomes from my mother too, she had them all round her garden and would bring them in for the winter, then carefully repaint them for the spring. Unfortunately I don't have any of hers but I think my brother still has them back in England.

If your brother has several of your mother's gnomes, maybe some time he will let you have one of them. :o)

Dread to think what the cost of shipping a gnome might be, heavy little things! Perhaps if I ever get to visit England again I'll bring one back in my suitcase.

Can you imagine if your suitcase was opened for inspection at the airport, as you returned home ?
Anything to declare ??
One gnome without a passport. Lol

Now, now girls. no talk of illegally visiting gnomes on here ha ha ha
