Multi colors, same pot

Last year after Christmas I bought four small ones. Pink, Yellow, Orange and Peach and planted them all in the same pot.

I like this idea. The myriad color is wonderful. I am collecting some schlumbergera this year so I'll be less frustrated with my easter cactus wait. I might try this. :-)

That's a real rainbow of colours.
Very pretty :o)

They really are lovely Mikec.....good to see you back on GoY!

Again, won't these differnt type breed each other and change colors?

I don't think that they will change colors at least not for a very long time. A friend has one that has three colors and it's over 20 years old and it still blooms the three colors. Greenthumb, I remember your frustration with your easter cactus. We were in the same boat last year. Mine did evetually bloom latter in the spring. As soon as it warmed up and there was no danger of it freezing I put it on my front porch and it set buds. Thanks for the welcome back Janey.

Hi Mikec, I like this idea, I can give it a "go", at the moment I only have a bright pink one, it won't take me long to find some other colours! I like all your other photos, been having a look. Marge.

Marge, Wait until after Christmas. The smaller ones go on sale after the H0lidays. I'm anxiuos for mine to get bigger so that the branches grow into each other which will really mix up the colors.

Great idea, I'd like to find a yellow!!

Really smart idea for a punch of colour! Haven't seen the yellows around here either...

Now that's a good idea.

That yellow one is great! First time I've seen one that colour!

BTW this is yet another plant that has had its name changed by somebody or other. We can't call it a Schlumbergia any more, it's an Epiphyllum.

I'd like to know who decides to confuse us all like this!

Oh not another one Spritz!.... interesting that they are putting them in the family with the orchid cacti. Always thought that a misnomer too... guess it makes sense in the very long run...Thanks to you, Mike, and my cousin, I've developed an interest in the cereus and epi's... great plants...

Mikec,

Very beautiful!

Good idea mixing the colors...it makes it interesting. I did this once with a hedge of Hibiscus...the colors meshed together to make an interesting colorful hedge.
