Weatherman said light snow shower on East coast - with apologies to Greenthumb , Newfienurse and anyone else who has real snow - its heavy by our standards.Yes Arlene started last night and still snowing now .
Birds and squirrel been out in it all day.Been making those suet mix treats with fruit and seeds for all to enjoy.

~where is the recipe for this BB and are you hanging them up?the last thing I want is for millions of rooks to get them instead of my blackbirds, robin etc~ they are so greedy, there are so many and I can't get rid of them!
22 Nov, 2008
Well Im no Gordon Ramsey - Majeekaheads blog covers making them Arlene.
If buy pre made ones then save coconut shells they can then be re used many times .Simply melt lard in pan put in nuts raisins seeds etc fill shells and set in fridge.
Best to feed rooks first then wait once food cleared they move on - then feed smaller birds.
Blackbirds love fruit so if you leave apples out for them rooks not too interested.

This is beautiful. It's a bit snowy here in Norfolk too BB. You're right though Gt and Newfie would smile at our "snow fall".

Don't feel bad, I think all of you should be smiling at what I'm considering to be cold weather....lol. Our record low the other night was 18 degrees F, that's about -7 degrees celsius. That's still mighty cold to me :-).

Amazing pic once again Jerrie.....gorgeous butterfly do you know what type it is?

~ when we were in Capetown we were chatting to the locals and they were complaining how cold it sometimes got~ I said how cold was that? they said 10 Centigrade! I said we sometimes got 10 below!

Thanks everyone ! Glad you like it !
Janey this is a Spicebush Swallowtail. The second most common butterfly I have here, behind the Eastern tiger swallowtail.
Arlene you would be living is a hardiness zone 8b if you lived here. I'm just a bit colder, I live in zone 7a. The lower the number, the colder the climate.

Thanks Janey !
I don't know about how the rest of you feel , but I think it's getting alittle too cold too fast to suit me !
