I love this photo David.I was never really into Beatrix Potter,as never having had children didn't read her small books but after seeing the film Miss Potter when it came out and then visiting Hill Top,and William Heelis's office at Hawkshead last year while on holiday up in the Lakes have become a fan of hers, especially as she owned so much of the LakeDistrict including Tarn Hows which is one of my favourite places up in Lakes...

I have just finished reading Linda Lears,Beatrix Potter and it makes good reading.Thankyou for sharing your photo's....

Neither was I, Tina, but the children both got BP soft toys from relatives when they were born. Have since read the books, and have also seen that movie. BP holidayed in Dunkeld for years as a child. Have never visited her Cumbrian links, although it is on my "to do" list with the kids. I aim to tie this in with the Chilli fest, which is held near Windermere in August - yum! I just missed this last summer.

interesting to see this. Have recently watched the movie Miss Potter and enjoyed it. Have always been a fan of BP's books and characters in them. My Mum collected little ornaments of the various characters from BP's books. I think my sister has them now.

Hi Alandrapal!

Was about to direct you to some pics here on GoY of BP's home in Cumbria after she married, and became a successful hill farmer, but the member, and pics, seem to have disappeared. Instead, visit "Google" and try Windermere, Bowness, Cumbria, etc. adding Beatrix Potter to them :-)

When James was born, he got a Peter Rabbit soft toy from a relative, and when Eilidh arrived, she got some BP porcelain figurines, so BP is still popular ! We watch that movie sometimes, too! :-)
