Well done. :o)

I get a lot of Goldfinches, I had been here 3 years before they came! I find they prefer sunflower hearts to anything else. Quite noisy and aggressive to each other but beautiful colours.

I had to wait months before they came - now there are 3 or 4 every day. They eat Niger seed like there's no tomorrow!

We have six Spritz...permanently clamped to niger feeders but what a mess underneath..

Isn't it funny how the same birds but in different areas will prefer different feed. I hear it all the time from my customers. All I can tell them what feed is suitable for which birds. I may try Niger again as this is possibly a different generation and it might get eaten.

Never off the niger feeders even in filthy weather there they are..literally clamped on...

Oh yes, BB! not sure how to clean it all up, either - I was looking at it this morning!

Spritz..toying with idea of slabs beneath table .At least would be able to wash down or brush off. Some of seeds even sprouting in grass...

I used slate under my tables, as there were unused piles of it lying around this farm where I live. Same reason as you mention slabs BB. Can scrape, brush, wash, disinfect, etc. Much easier to keep clean. So I'd say go for it! Could even put that weed suppressant matting (can't think what it is called!) under whatever you use so any dropped seeds that fall between don't get to grow.

Will do and thanks for the tips Have some old pond liner which should do the trick..

Oh sorry PG. I left a comment about the type of bird on your other photo before I read this one.
The goldfinches we have over here are just yellow and black. Very different to these little fellows.

Since taking this pic San I have replaced 2 feeders with 10 port ones, as their numbers multiplied and there was a lot of squabbling going on!

Go for it.....it can take time but if you have them around you they will find them....so will the others! So many birds eat them that it is never money wasted. :o)
