Big Horn Sheep

Big Horn Sheep

I hope you can see them. This is the cliff next to my house. A momma and juvenile were working their way down this morning. There are herds of these wild sheep in the lower mountain levels but they don't usually come to this area because it is populated. Fun to watch. There were two rams watching from above but they would not stay put so I could get a picture.

As they came down, they knocked the loose rocks over the edge and you could hear the rocks bouncing off the edges of the other rocks.

Great shot Skippy, if it were not for the dark shadow behind them they would be pretty hard to spot, the colours blend in so well.

Thanks for your interest. TT, yes, it is right across the street from me. FF that is why I was afraid you might not be able to see them. I have much better pictures of the sheep (btw-they are as big as a small horse) but I was fascinated that they were right here, close to my house.

Yes, BB, since I take care of my Mom, I don't get out as much as I would like so I am delighted when the wildlife comes to me. btw- are you still catching glimpses of cyril?

At least he should be happy he is not the main course...sorry but some people actually eat squirrel stew in the backwoods areas of the US...I guess it is all in what you get used to...I couldn't imagine eating one myself...I love your little Cyril..I have written a children's book (not published) about a squirrel that kept getting into my barn to obtain nesting material from the things which were stored there....she was funny to watch
