Asparagus Fern

This needs a lot ot watering and its best if mulched well to produce healthier, lusher leaves.

I'm sorry to say this....but this plant is a horrible weed here...I have two forms of Asparagus ferns I'm constantly pulling up and can never get completely rid of them. The roots are impossible to kill. And yes they have little thorns...I always have to use thick leather gloves when pulling them up. I have been hooked many times by the spines. Ouch!!!

Yes though they are weeds I still find their leaves pretty. I have mine growing out of the way in the far end of my garden. I agree with the stubborn roots though, as I've tried unsucessfully a few times to uproot them for re-potting.

I know the two types of Asparagus ferns that grow as weeds in my yard are widely used in the florist trade. As much as I dislike them, I must admit I've used them in floral displays in the past. LOL.

Yes mine has flowered, I have a few but I keep them well outside in the garden just to add to the greenery. I find them pretty.
