It's been very frosty for Cornwall this week so I'm keeping Olive warm with a fleece!

Is it an olive tree?

Yes and it's doing really well. It was my Mums but seriously neglected whilst she was ill and then when she died so it symbolises a lot to me. Rescuing it was really what led me to gardening over this last year and I'm hoping it does ok this winter.

They are extremely widely grown here (in California)...besides being grown as a crop tree. They are very hardy trees...tolerating temperatures down to 20 degree F/-6 degrees C. I would like to add the trees are usually large and in the ground. Olives trees are grown at all the low elevation and most mid-elevation areas of California.
Does your temperatures go below -6 degrees C.?

Hi again - temperatures not usually very low in this part of Cornwall but I'm just being careful as I've only just got it 'back on it's feet' so to speak!
