Snowdrops and Aconites

Snowdrops and Aconites

4000 snowdrops and 40 clumps of aconites to be planted! Got them through mail order from an estate in Scotland - dug up by Lady Irskine herself (and some staff)! They are double snowdrops - unsorted clumps of flowering and non-flowering bulbs - which shouldn't realise they've been moved. Cambo Estate have started these autumn and winter dispatches of bulbs as they are emerging from the ground, unlike the traditional time of lifting snowdrops "in the green" after they've flowered. Hopefully, should make a dramatic display in February underneath the three white birch Betula Jacquemontii

BBC Gardeners' World filmed us doing this yesterday!

I know how excited I get waiting for my few bulbs to appear each year plus the new ones. I cant even guess how excited you are.

What a task you've given yourself, but can't wait to see the results in early Spring. Cambo Estate is in our county. I'll be visiting in the snowdrop season.
