Ligustrum lucidum 'Tricolour'

Ligustrum lucidum 'Tricolour' (Ligustrum lucidum (Chinese Privet))

This is the shrub that I am going to plant when we take out the very poorly Eleagnus . Its leaf colour is not as bright, but it flowers, so that will be a bonus. It is vigorous.

How big are the leaves on this, Spritz? They look pretty big but a picture can be so deceiving.

Yes, they are, Skippy! They are about 3" long. It's a large specimen shrub which should grow quite fast once we get it in - I hope!

could you use it for hedging like our green privet Spritz ? it is very nice ...

I don't see why not, Amy - the only problem would be that the ordinary privet sold as hedging is grown such a lot that it is cheap to buy.
This is not widely grown. We got it at a specialist Nursery and it certainly wasn't cheap, I'm afraid. :-(
