An aunt of mine had one once and she gave it to me because she didn't like it. I like them though. This is a lovely one.

Thanks all, I'm so thrilled. First I've grown. Hywel, some don't like them for the following green, not a catchy plant and a little large, but I'll poke it into the garden somewhere and let it fill up on sun, once that comes back. Can't wait to see yours, and Janey, yours as well. :-)

Beautiful photo! And color!
If you first get a leaf, it never blooms. You have to starve it back to nothing and try again for a bloom. Although... I once saw a 14" pot full of them blooming and leaves. The owner said she grew it year round like a house plant and it still bloomed. It's a wonderful resilient plant to experiement with.

I plan to houseplant mine, though the leaves are big if I remember right. I've two more all sprouted and one that I hope comes through....lol.
