Beautiful. These on the back yard stump? :-) Here we are tempted by dendrobium all winter since this is their flowering season, we get them up from hawaii. Have to wrap up tight to get home.

Greenthumb I have this growing on the stump of a dead tree fern. I have all my orchids grown on these. I usually tie my orchid cutting securely to the stump by using any old nylon stocking.

Panther, that's a beautiful orchid!

Yes, Greenthumb this is the season when many orchids are in full bloom in all their glory. I see many yard with Dendrobium, Cattleyas, Epidendrums and Cymbidium are particularly common and easy to grow and so many more species of orchids I don't even know.

It's very strange. I love the flower and plants, however, I only have very few orchids. I always go to Balboa Parks, Botanical Building (the big lath house)
they have hundreds in bloom this time of the year. I'll have to go soon to take new photos. Also, The San Diego Zoo has gigantic clumps of orchids under and mounted on the huge Ficus trees.

Can I come with you?LOL...you are so lucky you have so many Gardens and places available that you can visit. Look forward to some of thos pics.
