Wild Phlox

These grow wild in big patches in rocky places in the "Hundred Acre Woods" near my house. The woods is actually several hundred acres and even though it belongs to a neighbor I consider it to be part of my "garden."

They make such a pretty statement within the rest of the greenery

Are these in flower now - or are they under loads of snow?

This year has been the all time record snowfall for most of eastern Washington. The phlox have about 4 feet of snow on them. They'll show up again in May and June.-Weeds

Cat, for me too. sometimes I wish you lived closer so that we could have more of those days. Sisty

Thanks Gilli, maybe the acidity or something else in the soil decides the color like hydrangeas. I suspect the Hundred Acre Woods is mosty acid soil, considering the pine trees growing there.
