Great little bird...Do you know what it is?

Thanks all. Santa brought me a new telephoto lens for Christmas :) I discovered that we have quite the array of birds in my yard. Unfortunately I now much less about birds than I do about plants. I tried looking some up online, without much success though. If we have a birder out there, by all means let me know name if you've got it. Thanks TG
Yes Janey, there is a crest on his head. Do you recognize this little cutie?

It looks like a Black Phoebe. They sit on a perch and hawk for insects. The black is a western variety.

Thanks Wohlibuli. I saw a photo online of a Black Phoebe and it looked similar to mine. Did you see my chili pepper lights on my xmas tree? I thought you might like them :)

Thanks guys. Don't be too jealous Flcrazy, but Jeff got me a super telephoto lens for xmas. The better to photograph with with my dear :) I love the new lens, but I think that it works best with the tripod, that I don't like to use too often. It's so clumsy and takes too long to set up and adjust. By the time the tripod is set up and ready to go, the moment is lost. Tripods are great for certain things, but spur of the moment and tripods don't mix that well.

Hey Tasteyg, You might get good use out of a car window mount, it's like a tiny tripod that slips over a half open car window. You can then take pics from behind tinted car windows. Cars with tinted windows make great blinds for birding!
