White Birch

My white birch tree that I planted three years ago has more than tripled it's size. It was only up to my waist when I planted it. I love the look of it whithout it's leaves in the winter.

My bird feeder is to the right and the birds are using the tree as a landing point before going to the feeder. I saw a different woodpecker this morning at the feeder. All black and white ( no red markings ) and about half the size of the one that I posted before. I need to get myself a bird identification book. There also have been a lot of small black birds the size of a sparrow that have a white stomach. I've never seen those here before.

I like trees in winter. You can see their structure much better.
