I reckon this little mole has tunnelled all the way from Kent! My paving slabs are still wobbling although no more heaps have appeared in my garden. There is a lot of activity a couple of doors away all round a seat by the bus-stop. I think if anyone sits on it they will disappear into a cavern!!

~ there seems to be a lot of activity in this field~ there is a heap of soil every few feet in any direction~does anyone know why they are so busy~are they looking for food?

Is that a little lamp on his hat too Arlene? I've noticed lots of mole hills around just lately, the time of year I guess, was expecting someone to ask how to get rid of them. Such lovely creatures but boy, do they make a mess.

My mum and dad live on a canal barge and she collects up mole hills to use as soil in her plant pots on the boat.
It is good stuff.

You're so right Trees&T, they can even make clay lovely and crumbly.

A while ago we did have a problem under the lawn in the backgarden but we used something they don't like the smell of and they went~they weren't harmed though!

I think they're eating grubs Arlene.

The Mole Catcher in our village died a few years ago, mole activity is up ever since......ah come on....you have to admire them for sheer industriousness.

~I do think they are great and we do seem to have lots of them about!If they stick to the woods and fields we would all be happy~ I will have to give them a map!

Ahahahaha....that is priceless! Can't be an altogether bad thing if they're eating grubs, as Tastey says! They aerate the soil...add nutrients...hmmm... as long as they stick to eating the grubs. LOL...Great photo Arlene!!
