A small grove of 'Ice Cream' bananas. The leaves are pretty wind blown.

Depending on the variety of banana you're growing...it may come back in the Spring. Most varieties of bananas are extremely cold or frost tender. However, if the soil doesn't freeze most banana varieties will live.
Musa basjoo - Japanese fiber banana is one of the hardiest varieties...I've seen them growing in parts of Europe.

our soil was solid for ten days....very unusul for this area....but i wont give up on it yet...

Yes, never give up...you never know...it may come back. Even if part of the corm has not froze...it should re-sprout in Spring.
