SHe does spend a lot of time looking out the window. This is the saddest to me. She'll get interested in every car as it lights up the ground. Close to outdoors as she will go.

If your house is like mine GT, there are nose prints all over the glass at cat level. Chevy sits for most of the day with his nose pressed against the window watching the birds at the feeder.

lol...When she was younger. She usually just puts on a big show of looking intently when I observe....lol. That was a different house as well, There was a feeding table and a flock of redpoll visited every day. She went wild over them

~when will she be able to go out GT~?

I don't suppose she'd want to go out in that snow. Does she go out in the summer. ?

This is the same scene as I have here GT...Larry my big fluffy Maine Coon goes out on the roof..almost every morning..but never touches the ground unless he sneaks out..then I have to catch him and bring him back in...Mary Jane has been totally raised in my home and knows nothing of outside..Yoda is 19 years old and has no interest, is not sure most days where she is I lthink...we have predators here Hywel...my cats would not last a night out, they would be a coyotes or a cougars meal. There are cats out around the neigborhood..they are only let out in the day time..but I am afraid since they seem to be let out on schedule..they will be gone before long...coyotes learn schedules and lay in wait...

I have lost a few kitties over the years to coyotes. They hunt during the day too. If you live in an area where there are coyotes, unfortunately you may loose a small animal to them once in a while. It was when I lived on the farm that cats went missing. The cats were outside cats for mousing. They lived in the barns in the hay bales and were perfectly happy. However, once in a while the coyotes would come through. There were cougars and bobcats as well as the bald eagles and great horned owls which are known to take cats too.
My cats are housecats now and don't go outside. I have to watch Molly when she goes out. She is smaller than a cat and has been eyed up by various hawks, eagles and owls. Just the other day I had to shoo her inside due to a bald eagle showing an interest and circling overhead.

Yes Gilli..we have bald Eagles who use the trees here for their hunting perch...until dogs are of a certain size they do not go out alone..my friends chihuahua..is never let out without a person guard....my daughter's dog Munchie is now large enough and is with the other dogs so he is fine now...when he was a pup..he always had a guard too...The eagles have chased small dogs on the beaches while on leash even...they are definelty looking for small mammals ...owls as well...have heard of small dogs being taken by owls and Eagles more than cats...otters n Friday Harbor took a small barking dog off the swim step of a boat up there in the San Juans when I was there......he was barking mightily and suddenly the otters came took him under water and that was it. Awful..poor people on the boat were in shock of course. I had cats on my boat that had the run of the docks they got to playing on deck and fell off more than once...nothing ever bothered them...I also had a small maltese that wore a life vest and we put out the port hole to go for her walks...she was never bothered either...everyone on the docks knew her..she said her hello's all the way up the dock to the grass and then brought herself back and peeked in the port hole at us...lol..on frosty morings I had to go out and help her aboard as she slipped as she was making her leap from the step to the edge of the deck and ended up in the water on one frosty night and terrified us.....

Bianca loves to go out, but isn't very adventurous. She likes sitting on the porch or finding a hole to sleep in shed next door or a couple old broken out cars. I've seen her cross the street to look around in the foresst next door. She stays close. I've only owls really to worry about, or neighbor dogs. I had one cat that would not stay in. She went out at -20 and dug a hole in the snow, she hated cat boxes. That one didn't last long, not much I could do, she hated inside. Bianca just likes to know whats going on. She is going out now in this strange warmth we are in. Just when I'm home. She doesn't take long trips. I leave the door cracked for her through the summer starting in May.
