One of my favorite birds. And I've only seen one in person. Great that you have them visiting.

We have so many they are a bit of a nuisance, as they eat an enormous amount of sunflower seeds, and intimidate the smaller birds. But I have to forgive them, they are so bright and cheerful. Do you get the Stellars jays, Greenthumb?

Oooo, Ahhhhh! (Just looked it up). I think that is the one I saw in person, but not here. It could be seen in Anchorage, but not up this far. Doesn't cross the mountains. Just gray jays. I don't encourage them. I get one looking around each year. Some birds are moving north, so maybe the stellars will show up. I saw magpie last summer.

Sorry, I spelled the name wrong initially. They are quite spectacular - a lovely glossy dark blue. I've seen then on the Sunshine Coast of BC.
