My mother grew these as houseplants years ago...they will grow very tall and my mother kept it in the livingroom window...one winter night, we, (the children) were playing blindman's bluff...and the blindfolded person mistook it for a chair and sat in the pot...crushing my mom's beloved plant! That's why I'll never forget the specie Impatiens....lol because of my mother's well deserved impatience with us! lol.

Lovely childhood memories Lori.
These impatients were one my mum's prefered flowers, she had them flowering all over the places.
Well they are wild plants here, and will take all your garden if you allow them.
I was already a grown up girl when cut some of mum's impatients out, cleaning a spot for hydrangeas in our house by the beach.
She gave me that mum's glance... I could see a guillotine flashing her mind...
Never forgot that... lol
Everytime i see some wild impatients it brings memories of my mum.. :)
