Looks as if he has a bow tied round his beak.......

This is a King Vulture and if they nest in your Hollyhocks I think I'd be worried.

Hey... I don't care if the thing nests in his Hollyhocks..I want to see pictures of the baby...I think this Vulture can nest just about anywhere it wants to ....if it is inclined to nest...I know where they come from ..but if Toto says it nest in his Hollyhocks ...so be it...they do nest on the ground after all...

It's only been for a few years now that they have nested in my hollyhocks. They took over when global warming forced the golden eagles back up north.

And Gilli. Where did you get the "Sir" from?

For these magnificent feathered creatures, reinforced super-size bird tables are recommended :o)

I couldn't agree more, I even had to put extra support around the hollyhocks.

When you first joined GoY I got the impression that you would go the extra mile ( or kilometre ) to encourage wildlife into your garden.

Great to know that your carpentry skills have been put to such excellent use.
On behalf of our fortunate feathered friends in Essex, I thank you. :o)

But think about how much you will have to spend to feed them. You would have to provide meat for them both plus all the babies.
I saw a nature program last night about another type of vulture called the bearded vulture from S Africa, they eat only bones and can swallow some bones whole, very bizarre seeing the bird chocking down the leg bone of an antelope!

There's no problem with feed Wohlibuli. They disappear every now and again and come back with the odd wilderbeast. I just supply the condiments.

9 Feb, 2009

no..now no scarfing down of wilderbeasts...I do not want to view the feedings so you may let that go please...when do we get to see the two of them together....and the all important egg?...I only want the pretty parts...no legs...or limbs or anything being swallowed whole...

Much appreciated... ~Cat..... ^..^

This one couldn't swallow anything - someone has tied the poor things beak up. Or perhaps it was the missing mate that did it?

This one must be the female then Gee.

Just what I thought :)

Um Toto....? What is it you are trying to say here?....Say it loud...Say it proud....no beaten round the shrubs.........mmmmm?
