Sunflowers are always so cheerful. And the bees and butterflies love them. In the summer in the mornings there are always little bees snuggled up in the sunflower heads where they spent the night. These are little native solitary bees. They snuggle head first into the join where the petals meet the centre. :o)

I grow loads of sunflowers every year, I love them. You subscribe to Amateur Gardening mag as well? I love it for its free seeds, I have their Geraniums, Snapdragons and Rudbeckias on the go at the moment. The sweet peas I got from them are a few inches tall and ready to go out in the cold frame.
Happy sowing :-)
