Iris 'George'

Iris 'George'

One of the more readily available bulbous iris. This clump looks as if it is in need of dividing later in the summer.

Small stems...Bulba.....are these Irises? Very pretty, I brought my Mum some very tiny Spanish Irises a few years ago.....and once planted in her garden with the extra rain etc...they ended up the purple Iris Germanica....which she already had...LOL! Ha...ha I missed the Alpine bit out ??

Yes, Janey, they are a form of Iris reticulata, an early spring flowering bulbous iris.

The dwarf bulbous irises flower early and die back early, but I would still expect the leaves to be showing now. Maybe you have a mouse problem?
