I bet it can get pretty noisy when these parrots squawk.
They are so beautiful!

Wohlibuli there are other bird photos I've posted that your son might like - kookaburra, dollarbird, sunbird, kingfisher, dusky honeyeater, sulphur-crested cockatoo, spangled drongo and some others - all fantastic aussie birds.

Janey and Delonix you're right - these particular birds are very noisy. They squawk very loudly - that's how I knew they were in the neighbour's very tall tree! When there's a flock of them the noise is incredible!

Thank you Bernieh,
I had most of them already, but will go back to pick up the ones I missed. He has always loved birds.
A funny story. When he was 3 years old we were in a pet store looking at the cage birds and a little girl came running up yelling "Look at the birdie" He turned to her and said " It's a Scarlet Macaw!" my jaw really dropped. : )

Bernieh:

How did I know I was correct...about the squawking. LOL

Well, because we have wild parrots here in San Diego also.
There's a flock of parrots that fly over my house almost everyday.
The parrots occasionally used to stop in my neighbor's 10
130 foot/ 40 meters Eucalyptus tress, before they were cut down last year...due to the liability of falling branches.
Sometimes, I still see the parrots on the telephone wires.
