Slow amaryllis

This amaryllis is really taking it's time. It's really going very s-l-o-w-l-y. It was planted on january 7th and other bulbs which where planted at the same time -and even a week later- have already bloomed. I guess one has to be patient with amaryllis sometimes..... they also produce such big flowers...! I can imagine it takes time to "fabricate" them, lol.

Your are both right, of course.
By the way. i'm reading this very interesting book about amaryllisses where the writer explains that some hybrids grow very much faster than others. This one is maybe from the slower-growing kind :-)
The new african hybrids are able to bloom in as less as two to three weeks!
