amaryllis seedlings

amaryllis seedlings

Little amaryllis seedlings. From a bulb with yellow flowers. Of course, it is not sure wether they will be all yellow when they (finally) reach flowering size :-)
They are about four weeks old.

Crikey Holantina.........this is very brave.....will they take a few years to mature?

Yes, they will reach flowering size in around five years. I've said it already. one's got to be patient with the amaryllis :-) But as other GOY fellows have said: it is worth while :-)
I put a trick on these seeds. I placed the container above the heat radiator. That kept the soil warm. Nevertheless it took more than two weeks for the first seedlings to germinate. But otherwise it would have taken much longer.
