I saw these tiny polyanthus at the nursery and had to get. I chose one, went to the register, I didn't realize it would be $12! Glad to have it, but whoa! I guess the rarety here for these shows in the pocketbook.

Nice plant GT.I have no idea how much 12 dollars? is in sterling but will take it that it is expensive.Perhaps we all need to get together and send you some plants to help build up your plant stock....

I can say I'll be taking extra care. :-) I like these on the stalk like this. I've never seen candelabra primula here before, can't imagine what they would want for those. THanks for all the comments, I'm forgetting the cost already. :-)

I just discovered in my research to add this into my garden that the polyanthus is an F1 hybrid so now I understand. F1 is a particularly bright and strong hybrid that can result only from cross breeding other varieties. If bred or reseeding, it reverts back to the parents. Thus the more expensive seed and plant. :-) Just passing that along...lol.

I have two of these in my back garden. The primula i don't think is a candelabra one. they tend to come up in tiers and are finer. They like to be beside water in gardens. very pretty and nice colour. hope you get a lot of pleasure from it.

They haven't really liked moving to my house. Not sure why. They live but finish up flowering quick. I'll have to get them a dish to sit in where it stays a little wetter. :-)

As far as plants are concerned Greenthumb, if I fall in love with what I see, I have to have, especially it it's unusual, forget the cost, enjoy!!. I'm going to a big plant sale next week & I expect what's in the purse will be forgotten. It will be empty by the end of day. I love your blog on ice sculptures, bye the way.

Thank you Pamd. Really the truth would be the greenhouse people know me and know I'm not going without something. :-) I almost have to avoid the place. :-) I've got Clivia on the brain now. :-)
