I'm moving these old cartwheels nearer the house, as a feature, and allowing plants to climb over them. They stand almost 6ft tall and I've thought about Clematis, Jasmin, Mandevilla, Ipomoea or even a climbing rose ( Ena Harkness?).
Winter temps go down to -20 so hardiness/protection is required.
Any/all suggestions welcome....

I love the cartwheels. Is that all your land? My cousin lives in France, not far from Paris and when you walk out his drive,a few metres away is thewoods which is absolutely beautiful in the spring.

Yes, the land, woods and stream are ours; An ancient mill needs lots of work but a 'labour of love'.

All these old building are a labour of love, many were left to fall into disrepair...
