Clematis Armandii growing up over my greenhouse roof

A beautiful clematis this and yours looks very happy Arlene! I once had C. armandii growing up the front of the house and forgot to prune it 2 years running, so had the usual clematis thing of all the flowers at the top with no scent at 'nose height' !!

Wow! How lovely.

Very beautiful Arlene. I have one of these and I can't believe the rate at which it grows. I'm forever pinching out the growing tips.

~It's going to get a repot and I will need to line the new pot with polystyrene so that the roots don't get too hot~I am hoping it will give me some natural shade in the greenhouse as it is south facing and can get very hot in the summer~not last year of course! but hopefully this year!

I hope so Arlene. Long hot summer days in the garden. Can't think of anything better.
I'm surprised you have it a pot though.

Does growing it in a pot stop it being so rampant? Lovely photo.

~it probably does~ but it is going into a much bigger pot so will let you know how it goes next year!
There are lots of steps in my garden as we are on a slope and it currently resides on the steps up to my greenhouse!
~I know this firm who can supply up to 220 litre pots but I have no intention of it getting that big ~I want a bit of shade not Sleeping Beauty's impenetratable hedge! I would like to see my greenhouse!~it will look nice next year hopefully!

I'm sure it will look lovely.

~sorry about that BB~ I know how you feel~I think that I have lost about 100 different varieties of fuchsia that I bought late last year~very sad!
