Unusual. Attractive.

You have to look closely to find the blossom, but the bees seem to find them easily enough, and the berries are well worth waiting for. One year all the leaves vanished off the entire bush, more or less overnight. Turned out to be something called gooseberry sawfly, a beastie about whose existence I had previously been mercifully unaware.

Yep, they're almost as big as gooseberries and taste like blackcurrents, but sweeter so you can eat them straight off the bush.
