Nice bird the heronias metalliica. Looks good in your garden....Hope he does a good job of keeping his relatives away.

You and me both Lindak...lol. The herons are too busy down at the lake trying to keep their young fed, to notice my little pond right now. We'll see how it goes after the young leave the nest.

Last year on one of our local reservois Gerry and I saw about eight pairs sitting up in a tree.

They look so different from the other birds, and are so large that they really draw your attention don't they !

With the river being just down the road we get herons flying low over the brow of this hill
