Amelanchier lamarckii 'Ballerina' (Amelanchier lamarckii 'Ballerina')

Small tree with many seasons of interest. White flowers in spring before the leaves which emerge coppery before turning green. Red berries in August, much loved by birds who strip the tree in a couple of days. Autumn leaf colour too.

What difference is there between 'Ballerina' and the species, Andrew. I've just found your photo album thru an inquiry about another plant and now I'm stuck!
Congratulations, you have a fantastic collection of plants and the photos are excellent, too.

Vincent - I think 'Ballerina' is supposed to have a slightly less upright posture at maturity, also the berries start red before turning black (although they get eaten very quickly by blackbirds and pigeons so I never see them turn).
Thanks for the compliments on my garden.
