I really don't know Gee. This is a replacement for one I lost and I still have the bag in which it came. The information on the bag says:
Grows best in full sun.
Plant in well drained, gritty soil.
Benefits from annual pruning.
Height after ten years 2ft.
So looks as though it shoul do alright in a gravel bed.
I got mine in Aldi for less than £2-00.

Thanks for the info, Toto. If I find one I might give it a try. £2 would be a great price too but no Aldi's around here. I'll just have to keep a look-out.
