Not sweet peas

This is growing in a pot that held sweet peas last year. I can vaguely remember planting something else and thinking that the two could grow together but I can't remember what! Can anyone identify it please? It seems to be growing upwards but not exactly climbing. Its put on quite a lot of growth over the last month or so - if it's a weed please break the news to me gently as I have been looking after it very carefully :)

Is it some type of euonemous?

Yes, Euonymus fortunei. You can prune it, and give it a shape as you like.

I don't think it is a euonymus - I think I would remember that as I have several versions in my garden and I don't think I would try and grow it alongside sweet peas. Perhaps it will surprise me and burst into flower :)

It reminds me of Euonymus too. I thought it before I read the other comments.
