Glad to be of service! :-)

I thought I'd lost this little plant in the winter - but it's hanging on!

Tiny, but you can't miss them, can you?

I thought they would be pretty tough as alpines Spritz ? I m going to be picking your brains soon as about to tackle our alpine garden.

Well that sounds posh doesnt it ? so much better than the pile of soil and rock I got from digging out the pond !

It's growing on the scree bed - maybe it's too dry? Wrong soil? I don't know.

I only have a few alpines, BB - but you're welcome to ask!

You cannot beat this colour can you?

I just hope it keeps going....I planted a bigger gentian in my alpine trough - admired it for ...ooooh, at least 10 minutes...went in, and the birds tore it to pieces! It is still there, but as soon as a bud appears, so do the birds. Sob, sob.

What is it with blue flowers and birds? do they eat them or do they hate the colour? never mind Spritz.....get a bird statue, sparrow hawk comes to mind?

They go for the yellow crocuses, though, and leave the others alone! Work that one out...

I know what you mean, really, BB. I was out with Henry this morning and saw a dead goldfinch in the lane - I was really upset!

Me again Spritz.
I like this little plant Gentian, is it an Alpine as I have around the lock 3 very large belfast sinks planted with Alpines and this little plant would look good with my others is Alpine.

Yes, Sophie. It would be a good choice for your sinks. I have it in my scree bed surrounded by gravel and protected with a ring of pebbles.
