I can see me wading through this lush undergrowth, and almost smell me, too! :-)

A beautiful scene, so sorry your losing your bluebells here Arlene. I hope there is something you can do.

Is the wild garlic edible Arlene ? Does anyone harvest it for resale maybe? You could advertise that anyone could have it for free to sale, if they would just come and dig it all out.

Hi FL
~the leaves and bulbs are edible~ the wood is owned by a wlidlife trust but they haven't done any maintenance for years~ now if I buy a strimmer I can chop the flower heads off before they go to seed...it is a downright menace to try to get rid of as not only does it seed everywhere it grows little bulbs on the roots which can each grow into a plant.!...

This garlic sounds like a real thug Arlene. Wish I had a simple answer to your problem. It's such a waste of woodland property isn't it.

it's a shame Jerrie~when we moved here in 1974 it was all bluebells and no garlic!
I am intending to send some photos to the trust and try to get some sort of action from them~or I go and chop them!

Lots of wild garlic in the woods behind us too Arlene, but none in our garden yet.
