Thanks everyone.Toto,I think we are just going to have to share Davina with Chris the owner {he lives over the back of us} because she does love to spend time with me during the day and then when I go out she heads back home and then I think when Chris goes out she comes back to us lol.Perhaps it is the womans touch that she prefers lol...

We had a shared cat many years ago. We called him Garfield. The ' other owners ' called him Pip. He was thrown out of a car that drove away. He was Tabby and white and had a beautiful nature. He lived to be 20 yrs old.

I can't understand the mentality of people that can dump their pets and drive off.We rescued a Chinchilla last year along a country road not far from where we lived and took it to a rescue centre as they need a lot of care and a large strong cage.

We had heard on the radio that when money is getting tight then the first things to go are the pets,but on the radio we also heard that people were getting rid of their pets because they didn't match their owners new carpet colour.How bad is that.A pet is for life {their life} not until the owners get bored with them.

You sound like us Hywel,all the pets we have had throughout our marriage have all been pets that people didn't want and in the case of Tina and our first cats were either going to be put to sleep or drowned.There are some really cruel people in this world

That's horrifying !! how can a pet match the carpet. Do these people take their own colouring into consideration when choosing a new carpet I wonder ? Well they could choose a carpet to match the pet they allready have if it's such a consern to them. OH ! it makes me sick

Hywel,it was the RSPCA that had been talking on the radio about the amount of abandoned pets that were being found at the side of the roads etc.The carpet one was the excuse that the owners gave for getting rid of the cat.I am sure they could have thought up a better excuse than that but there you go.Makes you wonder about the mentality of people and it makes me sick also....

what a gorgeous cat! I had some quick glimpses of something sad about people dumping cats, and am half afraid to read it, as it's so awful to hear about people doing that. It happens here too.
I have taken food to stray cats near here for years, late at nights. One I found a good home for, last October, thank goodness. Wished I could have kept him myself, but we already have 3 dogs and a cat, so I decided it would be best for the cat to go to a home without dogs, which seems to have been a good idea. I will be going to visit the cat again soon, the people I gave him to, have invited us. Am looking forward to seeing the cat again.
