"Artists" At Work!

Kids love nothing better than to get dipping into a paintpot, especially when it is chocolate-coloured (at least 70% cocoa solids) !

Do you lend them out, David? I could do with a couple of fence painters in my garden! Lovely to see children enjoying the outdoors and taking part.

Many Thanks, peeps!

Give them some old clothes, brushes and a tin of anything coloured, and they're happy!......until they can't reach any higher ,which is where I come in, Jacque! :-)

And, they take payment "in kind" :-)

lol - i have been painting trellis this week dark brown, Brooke keeps threatining to help, i have managed to swerve that one so far lol she has been helping me with digging the holes for the fence posts instead - nice and muddy with lots of worms - just how she likes it.

Angie - why did you "swerve" that opportunity? (Think I know, though). When Eilidh was under 2 years old and James just 3, I let them paint with forest green woodstain. OMG, I ended up having to "redirect" them to a discarded tree trunk. Their blond hair, and all their clothes, were dyed green. I chucked the clothes and "sheep-dipped" them both head-first in the bath repeatedly, to wash out the colour, b4 mum got home. I do have a pic of them painting the log - I love it! :-)

Awh, how precious....:-). I remember when my son was eager to join me in the garden to help out. Enjoy it as long as you can David ! Hopefully your lovely children will never tire of it like mine did ..... Keeping my fingers crossed that he will come around when he gets older, but he swears not now....lol

I'll place my bets on him "turning", Irish!! :-)

lol - yep i think you get the gist of it David...she means well, and i don't mind a bit of mud or normal paint...but wood stain?..... is likely to play havock with her delicate princess skin...not to mention my newly decortated cream coloured house that she would have to walk through to get to the bathroom...not quite warm enough for the hose down approach lol as much as i would proberly enjoy it myself

Majeeka - why, on Earth, did you dare decorate your house in cream shades, with a young daughter ???? LOL!

Wood stain is very water-based, so washes out easily (from hair, skin and clothes, that is, if treated within a couple of hours after "application".

If all I read and hear comes to fruition, we'll all certainly be able to enjoy an outdoor "hose-down", lol! Of course, I will believe it when/if it happens!

:-)

lol - i did'nt - my dad did, in his wisdom...but then he really would'nt think of things like that. bless him gues i can't really moan, after all he was good enough to paint it for me in the first place...and renivate it and build a huge extention..new windows etc....Daddies girl that i am ;-)

mmmmm hose down would be good fun...if we do get a hot one i can for see lots of mishaps with crazy daisy....'Brooke it's not working...can you go and look down the hole and see if it's blocked..' (heheheheh - manic laughter...while standing next to tap lol)...if you get the picture! ;-) ..just not as yet though don't know about where you are but it has been really cold here for the last few days.

What a GR8 Dad!!

I can just picture you two up to antics with hoses, lol! Here has been very sunny, and quite warm, except for when we get those cool strong winds, which shrivel annuals or decapitate things like climbing beans, sweet peas, etx., if put out befor end of May. so, ours are all here in my lounge, blocking my view of the garden, heehee! :-)

lol...i have moved most of mine out of the greenhouse now, we have had cold winds but they all seem to be coping ok...well i needed the space for my next lot of sowings ;-)
