Snowy Owl Beauty in the Wild

snowy owl at local beach area where they overwinter some years. Lucky to capture this with it's eyes open, as they are quite drowsy much of the time, and sit there with eyes closed. Their eyes are beautiful, as are their feather markings etc. Their feet are furry looking, but it's all feather covered.

Hi Tasteya, Sanbaz, Pansypotter, Tina, Janey & Michaella for the very nice comments, happy to share them with you. Everyone around here is especially excited when the word gets around that the "snowies" are back in our area again. Maybe this coming winter, - just remains to be seen, but we don't want the spring and summer to go by toooo quickly :)

thankyou both, Paulthe gardener and Bonkersbon. Paul, I have a couple where the owls look as if they are really laughing (at us photographers, standing there in the cold, just to get photos of them :)

Yes, they could have some fun with us couldn't they? I'm hopeless at catching any birds on camera. They always fly off!
