Hawthorn Blossom, Closeup

It's a May tree.
The saying " Cast not a clout till May is out " apparently reffers to this flower, not the month. When the flowers of the May tree are out is should be warm enough to cast clouts. lol. But not today - it's like winter today.
Another name for it is Hawthorn.

My favourite Spring blossom, thanks for the added info Hywel I remember the saying from my childhood.
