Will have to look up the latin...a spring flower that carpets acres of woodland in early spring and has for as long as I can remember....(I'm in Methusela mode today)

When the trees are not yet in leaf...the forest floor is a riot of colour...there is a lovely little plant which I think is a dicentra which grows with the DTviolet it looks like a clothes line of white bloomers...hence we called them Dutchmen's Britches! I didn't see any today...maybe need to look more closely!

This is erythronium Lori. A unusual shade to this one. A little ruddy. I just love them in a natural setting.

Thanks for the proper name for Adder's tongues, Gt. the back of the petals sometimes is a peachy pinky colour...which could be a response to late frost, I think. Aren't they beautiful, though? Any wonder that spring is my favourite season!!??
