Well, for anyone who thought I was alone. Here is the property including the landlords house. I've never gone down here, its really a lovely view the frogs have. :-)

That looks nice GT....is that your place on the right with the green roof?

Apart from the landlords being just there. It looks like a lovely peaceful place to live at.

Oh, it is, they are quiet gardening people. The neighbors just to the right past some trees.........that is another story.

i didnt realise u had such close niegbours.. good niegbours are a treasure . we have two brillliant ones and one dodgy one.

I was a bit concerned about you being so isolated. Glad you have someone close by. I like my own company but its good to know there is someone to call on if necessary. Perhaps that's an age thing :)

~probably a safety thing too Gee~ wherever or how old you are you may need help occasionally!
Pity we can't choose our neighbours GT!~

When you usually put photos it looks so isolated.

Choosing our neighbours would be fantastic Arlene......I can see a whole community of GoYers all chatting over their fences to each other. :o)

Thank you all for the comments! I decided I couldn't carry on the image any longer....lol. Most good views are just the cabin and hills, but this was such a lovely view from down there with the whole property showing. I was used to no neighbors before this so it was a big change. Probably 20 to 30 people walk by each day just neighborhood people, and lots of children. We are all very independant and just wave silently, and continue on our way pretending we are all alone.....lol. :-) The rowdy neighbors behind me are not like that. I have to listen to their radio all day long everyday, even when no one is there!

I'd love choosing neighbors. A little GOY community would really be astounding! We'd be famous. :-)

Hmmmm......maybe we should start a new cult???? LOL

Great pic Gt.....like everyone...I'm pleased to see there are others around you...all the more to fight off those Grizzlies and wild cats.....Lol! Is that your greenhouse on the right there?

11 May, 2009

That IS the new greenhouse Janey. I could go out all day in the rain to pot up and plant. This is the frogs eye view. Directly west. I am all east exposure, I've really taken to it.

What a great place to live, i have a nieghbour two doors down who insists playing music very loudly. Bad music as well.!!!!

Oh, you know the feeling then, ZG. I'd love to just tolerate, but they aren't kind or friendly either. :-)

I understandvery well, that You´d like other neighbours. I´m suffering from the wrong music - and my one only sounds sweet for me, too! - - This is a wonderful place, GT.It LOOKS so.

I bet you do love it in there....especially if it's raining pattering on the roof.....:o) Noisy music is so intrusive especially in a place like this.....couldn't they turn it down a little?

11 May, 2009

I've had the police turn it down when they left it on over night. They've fought with the landlord over noise, and last year almost had a shoot out with another neighbor. They've posted a for sale sign. Hopefully they'll just go. I'll stay on my side of the trees. :-)

That's not something I hear often. Maybe her plants always die. Pretty strong words.

I'd like to hear how you landed in Alaska. The final frontier. Always wanted to see. They say the cruises are fantastic. The aurura borealis must be wild, but 6 months a year it's night time all day. Yikes. Talk about seasonal light disorders.

It would be great to pick your neighbors (relatives too). I hate when people don't respect boundaries and blast radios, dogs barking, etc. Hopefully they will move.

lovely GT, great surroundings you have with the forests

21 May, 2009

Thanks Regina and Sanbaz. I love having the forest close, (you really can't get away from it anywhere but town). :-)
Regina, I came up in 1997 to work in denali national park as a summer job. I just fell in love. So much land and lifestyles shaped by nature rather than nature shaped by us. Theres an air of freedom and independance everywhere. I only spent one winter away since then. I lived down on the coast and those cruises are definately phenomenal. Though alot of the sites are melting away. Glaciers I used to visit aren't even there anymore, in just this short time. We have our share of SAD here, but most people cope. We have a lot of military from the bases and they don't neccesarily like it here, but most other have chosen to come. I am very excited to get to road trip around again this summer. Visit old favorite spots. :-)
